The only way to deal with this kind of insanity is to embrace the absurdity and lampoon the hell out of it.
I wrote a poem for Valentine’s day on Mad Art Lab. Everyone on the back channel was coming up with terrible kidney puns and trying to find things it rhymes with. Then someone said something really heartfelt about how hearts are an impractical token of affection and that kidneys are way better because you could actually give a loved on a kidney. In response to that I wrote a little poem (doing a shitty job finding something that rhymes with “kidney”) and drew a little picture, which i actually like.
When someone says they’ll give you their heart
As a token of love from which they can part
We take it as only a figure of speech
A turn of phrase, or an over sized peach
You may rest assured their affections are strong
But without a heart they wont live very long
And unless you’re a time lord, which I highly doubt
Two hearts leaves you one you can do without
So I put it to you, ladies and gents
If your love is undying and will not relent
Offer an organ you can actually spare
One that works hard, but is somewhat less rare
An organ whose measure is greater than wealth
And when shared can invigorate health
For true love, if we may call it that
Gives of itself and expects nothing back
Such a love may be given, but also rejected
For love is like antibodies and very selective
So if love is something you want to give free
Select as your symbol of love the kidney
I love the Plinkett movie reviews, but I’ve watched them all about 4 times a piece, so I started watching Half in the Bag reviews which I didn’t like nearly as much at first, but now I kind of love them. Obviously it’s all the same people, so that shouldn’t come as a surprise, but it did to me. If I had money I’d throw it at them and walk around like a complete fanboy, decked out in Red Letter Media merch, but alas I am broke. Instead I drew a picture of them, doing their thing.
